The Veyron is probably one of the most interesting cars ever made and it managed to keep the record for the fastest production car for quite some time. Its open-top version still is the fastest car in its class by a big lead and it is expected to keep it that way for quite some time from now on. More than 10 years ago Bugatti said that they will only make 450 cars and even though this may seem like a long time ago, they finally did it. The last Veyron to be sold before it will be replaced with the Chiron has been launched back at the Geneva Auto Show. This is the 2016 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse La Finale and it is an open top version.
While it may not seem like something special, the car is unique in its own way and it will certainly keep its value in the next 50 or 100 years. It is part of the 150 open-top versions and 300 coupes and it will remain part of history as the fastest convertible at the time of its launch. The price is unknown but considering its paint scheme and all the extra bits over the usual Veyron, we would not be surprised if it cost more than $3 million.
2016 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse La Finale Engine
Its engine is the same as that on the usual Grand Sport model, an 8 liter quad-turbocharged W16 mill which has little to no lag at all. While it may be overly complicated, this is the only engine of its kind to be able to offer reliably up to 1,200 horsepower and more than 1,500 N*m of torque. It then routes all that power through a specially designed 7 speed automatic gearbox to a four wheel drive system. This allows it to get to 60 MPH in just 2.6 seconds despite having nearly 4,000 pounds and get to a maximum top speed of 410 km/h or little over 255 MPH. This is very impressive for a production model and we are almost certain that it will remain the fastest open-top car for a long time.
Exterior of New Bugatti Veyron
So far we said that the 2016 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse La Finale is an amazing car but the usual model is identical as well. The changes come to the exterior of the car which has received a completely new paint scheme, unique to this particular model. The entire carbon fiber shell of the body remained bare so the carbon fiber weave is now visible. On top of that, the hood, front bumper, side-skirts and rear spoiler are now offered with an Italian Red carbon-fiber shade which is woven in the fiber rather than being painted over it.
On top of that, the car has the “La Finale” lettering inserted in the weave under the front right headlight and quite subtle, under the rear active wing. The wheels have also been painted in the same Italian Red color scheme and the rest of the car is bare, black carbon fiber which really makes it stand out. This is also the first Veyron to come with its intercooler scoops painted in a matte black color.
Bugatti Grand Sport Interior
The interior of the 2016 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse La Finale pays tribute to the first Veyron ever made so its had its interior wrapped in a “Silk” leather upholstery which is then contrasted on some panels with a “Hot Spur” red leather which makes it a bit nicer to look at. Unlike the first Veyron though, the 450th model of the range also has exposed red carbon fiber inserts throughout the interior as well as beige stitching on the red leather bits.
